Young Eagles Success!
Over one million kids flown, as announced November 13, 2003
here.
The Young Eagles program has been developed by the EAA Aviation Foundation
to welcome young people into the world of aviation. Aviation is exciting
and vital to our nation's future. Through this program children are offered
a safe and enjoyable flight that gives them new perspectives on the world
and life in general. Participation in the Young Eagles program will help
them understand that an individual's potential is unlimited.
What is EAA and the EAA Aviation Foundation?
The EAA is an international aviation membership association founded in
1953. More than 170,000 people belong to the EAA, with Chapters in all
50 states and many countries. Members are aviation enthusiasts of every
age group, including many airline and commercial pilots, engineers,
business people, even astronauts. They enjoy all types of airplanes.
The Young Eagles Program is sponsored by the EAA Aviation Foundation, a
charitable non-profit organization dedicated to the discovery and
fulfillment of individual potential through personal flight.

Chapter 196 Young Eagle Rallies
EAA Chapter 196 holds Young Eagle flights once a month. Flights take
place at Minute Man Air Field on Boxboro Road in Stow, Massachusetts.
Rallies are normally held on the second Saturday of the month between
9 a.m. and noon; during winter months the time is changed to the
afternoon as mornings are often too cold. Pre-registration is
not required. Directions to the airport can be found
here.
If you wish to sign up ahead of time, or
for additional information send an email to our
.
For last minute information on the day of the event only, call the
airport at 978-897-3933. Directions to the airport can be found
here.

Here's a fun project that kids can do before or after their Young Eagles
flight. It's a free, downloadable Piper J3 Cub that can be printed out on
your home computer and built. It's easy and fun to make, and it really
flies! Click on the image at the right for more information.
Come Prepared: Before coming to a rally you can download and
fill out the official registration form for each child. The form is
in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format and is 332,775 bytes in length.
Please Note: The PDF file that EAA has provided us is 6 pages long,
but the actual form is only the last 2 pages and these pages should be
printed back to back. Yes, we know this is inconvenient. We will have
plenty of pre-printed forms available during our rallies so it's not
necessary to print your own ahead of time unless a child will be
attending without their own parents, in which case signatures do need
to be obtained ahead of time.
